Celebrating with Brooke Jensen, mother and blogger at The Broke Brooke
Fashion, lifestyle & mommy and me blogger, Brooke Jensen definitely knows something about celebrating! Married to her husband, Andrew, for over 5 years, they are the lucky parents of a precious daughter, Charleston! She is the love of their lives and a constant source of celebration.
HOW DO YOU ADD JOY AND BEAUTY TO YOUR DAILY LIFE?
One thing I’ve learned during 2020 is to truly appreciate the life we’ve been given! Life is too short not to use the china, buy the flowers, drink the champagne and wear the party dress! Each day that we are healthy and happy is a gift!
Fashion is also a daily joy. I’ve always had a love for it from an early age on. Some of my fondest memories are shopping trips with my sweet mom! She has truly inspired my love of classic, timeless and feminine style!
CAN YOU SHARE ABOUT ONE OF THE FAVORITE PARTIES YOU ORGANIZED?
My favorite party this year was Charleston’s Birthday! We had a “Tea for Two” party theme and it was perfect! Charleston still talks about her birthday all the time - the cake, the balloons and of course her family!
The party invitations were done by Honey Bear Pages. I LOVED her sweet watercolor tea cups and decided to add a photo to the back of the card so that we could save them as a special keepsake in her Baby Book.
We also had a custom made plate painted by Tricia Lowenfield for the event and customized party hats with Charleston's name embroidered upon it by Preppie Peonie.
We had a yogurt parfait bar and used really sweet tea cups which matched so well with the theme.
All the details and links are in my blog article "Tea for Two Birthday Party".
CAN YOU SHARE A SPECIAL PARTY TRADITION OF YOURS?
I love keepsake gifts and wanted to start a special tradition for Charleston! We will use this cake knife every year for her Birthday and then it can be used on her wedding day!
Birthday Cake KnifeThis is a special cake knife, as you will surely see…I’ll use it to cut my birthday cakesfor many years to be.While I am so tiny, it’s hard to believe, one day I’ll be all grown upand making plans to leave. When I marry my handsome PrinceI’ll become his wife, and then to cut our wedding cakeI’ll use my Birthday Knife!
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE SOMETHING ELSE ON CHILDHOOD JOYS?
Yes, I would love to share one of the best projects we’ve done for Charleston : it's is a DIY playhouse!
Growing up, I had the BEST playhouse that my Dad and Grandpa built for me. It was one of my favorite things and I remember spending hours playing house and school inside! When they offered to build this one for Charleston, I was thrilled! We’ve posted all of the instructions on my blog!
