Alysia and Audrina's Charlotte Sy Dimby Dress Story
Behind every Charlotte Sy Dimby dress lies a story : one of beauty, love, and meaningful moments between children and their families.
Thanks to the testimonials so graciously shared, we are delighted to discover how our dresses travel over the globe, far beyond our atelier and Parisian boutique, to become part of everyday rituals, seasonal celebrations, and treasured memories. More than kind words, they offer heartfelt glimpses into those experiences, and we are deeply grateful for each of them. They are a privilege.
Among the wonderful encounters made through our brand, that of Alysia and Audrina holds a particularly special place in our hearts. Their world is one of bows, roses, and thoughtful details : a universe which echoes many of the values at the heart of Charlotte Sy Dimby. Over the years, their mother Sierra's, discerning eye and creative talent have not only guided her own dress choices, but have also become a source of inspiration for many of our collections. Her appreciation for grandmillenial aesthetics, soft pastel shades, romantic dreamy silhouettes, smocked details, and timeless femininity has shaped many of our designs.

Alysia & Audrina and their Charlotte sy Dimby Dresses
“Thank you to Charlotte Sy Dimby for offering high-quality smocked dresses in a wonderful selection of big girl sizes for my girls. The brand is truly like no other — one of a kind. The designer has always gone above and beyond to bring my dress wishes to life. Cheers to many more bow dresses!”

Where the story began
It all began, quite simply, with a love for bows. Sierra, whom we fondly nickname “the eye” within the atelier, has an acute sense of observation. She is always on the lookout for new inspirations, emerging trends, refined expressions of childhood elegance and all things incorporating bows.
She thus first discovered Charlotte Sy Dimby through the influential tastemaker Emily Hertz, founder of Born on Fifth,, with whom we had the honour of collaborating. For our first trunk show together in Atlanta Georgia, we imagined a dress adorned with ribbons delicately smocked across the bodice. The design immediately caught her expert eye, and from that moment, a bow-centred story began to unfold.
A shared love of bows, season after season
Season after season, we created matching dresses for her two daughters inspired by her exquisite taste and her love of all things feminine and refined. Whether embroidered or smocked, bows became a recurring motif woven into each of the girls’ special pieces. Each new design was an opportunity to reinterpret this signature detail : sometimes subtle, sometimes more expressive, and always crafted with care and intention. This dialogue between our atelier and her creative vision has become one of the most meaningful collaborations in our journey.

Two set of dresses truly embody Sierra’s aesthetic. The first one, featured right at the top of the article, is a French style dove grey and white Oxford cotton stripe one adorned with miniature soft pink bows across the bodice. Featuring a timeless Peter Pan collar and our iconic butterfly bow sash, it is a true classic.
The second one, our Princess Charlotte dress reinterpreted with bows was named after the girls and had immense success. Learn all about the A&A dress
Roses, gardens, and painted memories
Beyond bows, flowers have become another poetic thread woven into our friendship. Sierra has a true passion for gardening, cultivating roses and blossoms with the same care and attention she brings to selecting dresses for her daughters. Nothing delights us more than receiving photographs of Alysia and Audrina wearing Charlotte Sy Dimby designs alongside freshly picked bouquets from her garden. There is something deeply touching in seeing our creations framed by nature : soft fabrics meeting petals, ribbons echoing stems, childhood poetry unfolding in the quiet beauty of flowers.

This love of florals found a particularly meaningful expression when she commissioned a painting from the American portrait artist Shari Ford, depicting her eldest daughter in a soft pink dress, holding a bouquet. The portrait captures a tender moment suspended in time : a reflection of childhood grace, femininity, and the gentle elegance that we strive to infuse into every Charlotte Sy Dimby creation. Seeing our designs interpreted through the brush of an artist and framed within such a personal family memory is a reminder of how deeply clothing can intertwine with emotion and storytelling.

Over the years, she has continued to share photographs of her garden roses with us, small gestures that never fail to brighten our days. These images, simple yet heartfelt, have quietly inspired new ideas : delicate colour palettes, floral motifs, and refined details that find their way into our seasonal collections. In this way, the story of Alysia and Audrina is not only one of wearing our dresses, but of shaping them, too : a gentle exchange of inspiration that continues to evolve. As the family grows with now a third little princess to dress, we hope to keep the bow tradition alive!
Happiness held is the seed, happiness shared the flower! Thank you for making it bloom so bright!
