MAKING LITTLE MERMAID DREAMS COME TRUE : ARIEL THEMED 5TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

The theme choice

For this year's celebration, Hiroe's daughter declared with intense determination : "For my 5th birthday, I want to be Ariel!" The inspiration came from a treasured memory, Sae's 4th birthday, for which we created a stunning Elsa dress. It left such a lasting impression that she knew exactly what she wanted for this milestone : a new Disney princess. The Little Mermaid had captured her heart!

Hiroe described the moment as pure magic. Upon seeing the dress, Sae's face lit up with wonder as she exclaimed, "Wow!!! So cute" She was immediately drawn to the intricate pearl embroidery details, gently touching them with true fascination. Knowing that our design choices had resonated so deeply reminded us of the core of our mission : to create dresses that don't just fit a body, but speak to a child's heart.

The accessories 

Every detail was thoughtfully chosen by Hiroe to complement the dress. The shoes were originally a gift from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Tokyo Disneyland meant to be paired with a Cinderella outfit. However, they aligned beautifully with Ariel's color palette, making them the perfect accessory. The hair bow is from Verity Jones, adding an elegant touch that perfectly completes her mermaid transformation.

The birthday cake and cookies

Hiroe continues her cherished yearly tradition of baking the birthday cake from scratch. Knowing that Sae adores Shine Muscat grapes above all else, the cake was generously filled with her favorite fruit. 

For the cookies, she once again collaborated with @icingcookies._.bellerose, providing them with images of our custom dress design to ensure perfect coordination. The bakers created adorable Ariel-themed cookies : each one a tiny edible work of art.

 

The most memorable moment of the celebration

Before the cake could even be arranged on plates, Sae made a beeline for the whipped cream, her eyes wide with anticipation. Hearing her pure delight "This is so yummy!" filled the celebration with laughter and reminded everyone what birthdays are truly about : living each minute to its fullest.

But the moment that truly captured Hiroe's heart came as the day wound down. Sae had fallen completely in love with her Ariel balloon and refused to part with it, insisting on taking it to bed. As she drifted off to sleep, still clutching her mermaid companion, she whispered those words that every parent treasures: "Thank you for the best day ever, Mommy." In that quiet, glowing moment, another perfect memory was created.

A day at Disney Sea

The celebration didn't end at home : it extended into the enchanted realm of Tokyo DisneySea. Dressed in her custom Charlotte sy Dimby Ariel dress, Sae and her family enjoyed a day trip to the beloved and frequently visited themed park. They rode the roller coaster with hearts racing, and took a peaceful moment to dine at the restaurant. Though they didn't encounter Ariel herself that day, something equally magical happened: the DisneySea staff called out with genuine delight "Ariel and prince Eric" each time they spotted the children in their costumes. They felt so proud by the recognition and celebration of their carefully chosen costumes. 

THE MERMAID DRESS

Crafted in special collaboration with Hiroe and inspired by Sae's Ariel dreams, this dress is now available to all upon pre-order.

Aqua and lavender merge to form a sophisticated color palette capturing the mystique of the ocean depths. The heart of the dress is its exquisite lavender smocked bodice, intricately adorned with lustrous pearls. Delicate ruffled lace sleeves frame the shoulders with ethereal beauty, creating a romantic, shimmering scale-like effect that evokes Ariel's shimmering tail.

Last but not least, the voluminous turquoise skirt is designed to move with graceful fluidity and has a tulle underlayer. The full silhouette creates that perfect twirl factor.
