Can you please talk about the party inspiration ?
Victoria loves nothing more than dressing up and is fond of Disney princesses. A Fairy Tale Princess theme seemed only natural! I had been secretly dreaming of it since her first birthday. With Covid, I was unsure until the last moment whether I would be able to bring it alive but we finally managed to make it happen!
Can you describe the invitations?
The idea was to summon little princesses to a royal ball! I choose a Cinderella inspired design with tiaras, a pumpkin horse drawn carriage and wands. To set the tone, the card was in soft pastel shades of blush pink and blue with golden accents.
I kept the invitation wording simple and fun!
Can you present the party venue?
To welcome a large number of guests, roughly 100 guests, I decided to rent a location. After visiting several venues, I selected the Perth Town Hall. Its “Beauty and the Beast” vibe attracted me right from the start. The Gothic style aesthetic matched the theme well yet the place remained sober enough to allow us to incorporate our own decor. And of course, thanks to the renovations, the modernity of its amenities is another asset.
Can you talk about the party decor?
This was the most challenging yet the most rewarding part of the party planning. The aim was to create a royal ball scenery, to give children the feeling of living a fairytale!
For the backdrop I imagined a castle with four towers and an arch in the middle to create the impression of an entrance. To add fantasy, we added garlands of balloons of different sizes and colors : ivory, blush, shades of pink, silver and rose gold to give a subtle shiny accent. These were decorated with golden butterflies to give a Spring feel (in Australia it is currently Winter). This scenery was placed on stage and was the centerpiece of the decor. It definitely attracted the eye.
I am very fond of balloons and highly recommend using them to add magic to a party! For girls, boys, toddlers, older children or even adults, they are always pleasing to the eye! I have a sharp eye for colors and love the infinite possibilities offered by balloons. To achieve exactly the shades of the party theme, I double stuffed the balloons. I actually launched my own business around it. You can see some of my creations on my Instagram page @infinitybeyondparty.
Can you talk about the cake and treats?
A party would not be complete without a cake! We had a white two-tier cake with a golden carriage. It had beautiful white petals and of course a V for Victoria.
Each little guest also had a Disney princess cookie on her plate. The mini carriage boxes on the tables were filled with chocolates and cake stands were filled with treats!
To all the children's delight, we had an ice-cream vendor!
Can you describe your child’s party outfit?
I trusted Charlotte sy Dimby to create the perfect dress for Victoria just like last year.
My sister gave her advice, working as a stylist, she helped me make the decision. I love so many Charlotte sy Dimby styles so I needed her help! We decided on a Netti dress with ruffles to give a delicate butterfly feel. Of course it had to be pink! And for the smocks, we chose delicate rows of flowers. The result was sophisticated and elegant. Victoria loved it and actually named it the "Princess Victoria dress".
What type of games did you organise for the children?
We had four princesses from Glass Slipper Entertainment to do performances and games for the children. They sang and danced with them and also did pass the parcel game. Every child got a present.
What party favors did you have for the guests?
I prepared goody bags with art/craft activities and some stationeries inside. It was a way to thank the guests! Each child also had a tiara next to her plate, to wear during the party and then take home!
What was your favorite moment of the party?
Seeing all the children dancing and singing with the Disney princesses! They were totally enchanted, it was adorable! It was our first big party since Covid and I could not have been happier.
Can you mention the vendors?
This beautiful party would not have been possible without the talent of all the vendors. Thank you to all who took part.
