BIRTHDAY TRADITIONS, CHILDHOOD DREAMS AND A PARIS CELEBRATION
The most beautiful stories are written in threads of beauty over time. Such is Caroline's one.

We have been dressing Kendall's daughter for years now. Season after season, moment after moment. From her birthdays to Easter mornings, from Christmas celebrations to Fourth of July gatherings. Each occasion marked by a dress chosen with care, each one becoming part of her fairytale as she grows.
Along the way, a friendship took shape with the family. What began with dresses has become something deeper, built on dreams, shared memories, and the joy of celebrating childhood.

This year feels particularly important. For her seventh birthday, Caroline is coming to Paris. A city she has dreamed of, a place that holds meaning for her and for us. To mark this moment, we wanted to create something very special. A dress that would carry everything she loves and truly reflect her personality. So before anything was sketched or sewn, we asked the princess herself to imagine, to make a wish, to tell us what would make her happiest.
From cherished birthday rituals to this dream dress brought to life, Kendall shares a glimpse into the beauty of motherhood, traditions, and the joy of watching a little girl grow.
About Caroline
How would you describe Caroline’s personality?
Caroline is pure joy. She is thoughtful, creative, and fun-loving. She sees the beauty in nature, cares deeply about her family and friends, and loves expressing herself through ballet and art. She is such a bright light with the most endearing positive spirit. Every day is the "best day" in Caroline's eyes.
What does she love most about dressing up?
In her own words : “It feels special to get a dress from France. I love how they make the perfect twirl. I love the smocking with flowers or bows and I love it even more if it’s pink!”

How do you pick her outfits?
When shopping for Caroline, I try to choose pieces that are timeless and never go out of style. She loves when I surprise her with new dresses or clothes. When we are picking out a dress for a special occasion, I will usually give her three options to choose from and that helps her decide. She loves to feel fancy and will usually gravitate towards dresses with ruffles, bows, and flowers.
There is nothing sweeter than a large hair bow to complete an outfit. Caroline has been wearing Weeones bows since she was a baby and they always match her dresses perfectly.
One of my favorite parts of the day is helping Caroline get ready in the morning. She picks a dress the night before and helping do her hair in the morning gives us time to connect and talk about the day ahead.

About traditions
What does a “typical birthday” look like in your family?
Celebrating our children is something we look forward to every year. Reflecting on how much they’ve grown is always bittersweet. We love to make the day all about their favorite things and really let them guide us on what fun they’d like to have.
In the past, Caroline has picked going out to get donuts or chocolate chip pancakes at a local brunch spot. She loves reading, so a trip to a bookstore is always on her list of things to do. Getting nails painted at the salon has also been very exciting the last couple of years. Some years we will have larger parties with friends and extended family, but my favorite way to spend their special day is slowing down and enjoying the moment with them.
Do you have any traditions you repeat every year?
One of our family traditions is decorating our breakfast table. We love watching the children run down the stairs to see all of the surprises. We always end the day with a celebration with our extended family. Getting to see them make a wish surrounded by their sweet cousins is always so special.
One of my traditions is to write them a letter each year on their birthday, which will be given to them when they turn 18 to read and reflect on all of our special moments.
Why are these rituals important to you?
They are part of our values and traditions. Seeing our children’s faces light up on their special day is priceless. Giving them a true sense of belonging and feeling cherished by their family is so important to us.

About Caroline’s dresses
Can you describe how you can to discover our dresses and the memories linked to the first one?
Every year I’ve picked out a special pink dress for her birthday. When Caroline was 4, she started taking French lessons so I thought what better way to celebrate her love of France than with a dress from Paris! She loved looking through all of the pink dresses and deciding which felt most like her. Each birthday dress connects me back to that year, how watching her grow up into a little girl is such a blessing and how lucky I am to have her to celebrate.

When Caroline imagined her dream birthday dress this year, what did she describe?
As a tiny dancer, the twirl of the dress is very important. The Netti dress with ruffles and puffy skirt is her favorite style. She dreamed of combining all of her favorite colors; pink, purple, and blue. Flowers in the smocking felt fitting because Caroline loves helping in the garden and arranging flowers with me for parties. We wanted the dress to feel a little grown up and fancy, adding the collar and sleeves was the perfect touch.
What did it mean to you to see a dress created just for her?
We have so many beloved memories in our Charlotte sy Dimby dresses. Starting with her birthday, it has quickly become our go-to place for beautiful clothing for our holidays and vacations too.
We love them all yet creating the “Caroline” dress holding her name felt even more special. Since we will be celebrating her birthday in Paris this year it adds extra magic to it all.
How did she react when she saw it for the first time?
We had the dress shipped to create joyful anticipation for the trip. Caroline’s face lit up when her dress arrived. Yet it's only the beginning of the adventures as she is so excited to share her dress with other little girls too. She hopes it makes them just as happy as she feels in it.

The Caroline Dress
In soft pink cotton, the dress feels both delicate and timeless. The hand-smocked bodice is adorned with floral motifs in shades of pink, blue, and purple, echoing the colors Caroline dreamed of. Each stitch reflects a tradition of craftsmanship that values patience and detail.
The neckline is framed with gentle ruffles that bring softness and movement. The puffed sleeves add structure while preserving a sense of childhood charm. The skirt with tulle underlayer opens into a full silhouette, designed for the perfect twirl, an essential detail for a little girl who expresses herself through dance.
In the back, a generous bow ties into a butterfly wing shape for a perfect fairytale touch.

About her Birthday in Paris
Why did you choose Paris for this birthday?
This was a big year of celebrations for our family. My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and milestone birthdays.
That combined with Caroline’s dream of visiting Paris : we decided it would be the perfect way to celebrate our entire family.

What does this trip represent for your family?
Life is worth celebrating! There are many reasons people choose not to travel with their children, but my husband and I try to look at all the reasons why we should. Getting to experience the world with them is a gift that we cherish.
Can you describe how you spent her special day in Paris?
We arrived in Paris the day before, so after a good nights sleep we were ready to celebrate. Caroline’s breakfast request was fresh pan au chocolat, which was even better than we imagined.
We started our day with a lovely visit to the L'Île aux Fées Paris boutique where we were greeted with the warmest welcome. Caroline felt so special seeing her birthday dress on display. Getting to see the boutique in person, touch and feel the fabrics and try on dresses was such a wonderful experience.
From there we headed over to Shakespeare and Company book store. The children loved the unique rooms and history and chose a new book to remind them of the day.
We moved on to the Marionettes du champ de Mars, a whimsical puppet show near the Eiffel Tower. It was so sweet to watch them giggle with the other children, proving that laughter is a universal language.
Then it was time for our ascent to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Caroline was looking forward to this the most. Seeing the beautiful views of Paris was a dream come true for her. We finished the day off with a lovely dinner at Francette. A perfect view of the Eiffel Tower and a large chocolate mousse sealed the deal as the best birthday ever.

About Motherhood
What does celebrating Caroline each year teach you about motherhood?
Celebrating my daughter on her birthday reminds me just how precious time is. While some days my heart aches for my baby girl, watching her grow into a lovely young lady is truly something to celebrate.
If you could freeze one birthday moment forever, what would it be?
Caroline’s pure excitement when we made it to the Eiffel Tower will be a moment I’ll never forget. Her 7th birthday will be hard to beat!

There are stories that stay with us because of the loving hearts behind them.
